Plein Air Painting Day at Rouge Park – All are welcome!

  • In conjunction with the Rouge Park management, OPAS is having an open fall paint-out at the Rouge Park on Saturday October 9 from 10 am to 1 pm. The park authorities will be promoting the paint out to their huge database of contacts and it is a high visibility paint-out for OPAS and OPAS members.

We will meet at Pearse House, 1745 Meadowvale Road, Toronto, across from the Toronto Zoo. The house itself is a worthy subject for painting, but the Rouge Park is the largest urban park in North America and features a wide array of subjects for your painting pleasure, from the meandering Rivers to the hills and large vistas and trails with century old trees. It is all here.

As we grow as an organization and we start working with other groups such as the Park Authorities, City Governments and Tourist Bureaus on events, it is important for us to show strength in numbers of participants. This encourages organizers to work with us and gives us the ability to organize more paint-out and shows throughout the year. So while we usually have good turn out for our paint-outs, we would like to urge all members plein air enthusiasts within reasonable driving distance to the park to join us for this important and fun event. Bring a friend, student, spouse or partner along. Make this your fall plein air event.

If you need transportation, let us know. If you are willing to pick-up fellow members living in your area who don't have transportation also please let us know. We would really like to have a high level of participation for this event.

Our thanks to Keith and Helen for their big effort in organizing this wonderful paint-out opportunity. We really need more such involvement from all members in all parts of our wonderful province.

You are welcome to come last minute and there is no cost to the paint-out But please RSVP to Keith at so that we can plan the day better and wait for you.
