    Does your work celebrate the GTA’s landscapes and/or cultural heritage? Here’s a chance to share this passion against the beautiful backdrop of Rouge National Urban Park!
    Parks Canada is proud to announce an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work at our second annual Art Day in the Rouge this fall. We are looking for local talent eager to engage with our visitors on the trails as you work – let people see how your art comes together, and share what being an artist means to you! Join us for the day as you work on site or present a small drop-in activity to help our guests appreciate the relationship between art and nature.
    We are looking for artists in all genres:
    - Visual Arts (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, etc.)
    - Performing Arts (music, theatre, dance)
    - Literary Arts (writings, poetry, storytelling)

    What you need to know:
    Event Time and Location:
    - Saturday September 23, 2017, 11am to 4 pm (set-up begins at 9:30am)
    - Rouge National Urban Park’s Zoo Road Welcome Area, near 1749 Meadowvale Road
    - You will be working outside along the trails: sites available include: Forest sites (natural shade) and meadow sites (tent shade).

    Other information:
    - Chosen artists will receive a $150 honorarium for their participation
    - Your work must celebrate the natural or cultural heritage of the area
    - Have an activity or demonstration prepared for our visitors (you are free to work on your art as a form of demonstration if you choose).
    - We will provide you with shade, water, tables and chairs (power is available at limited sites). All other supplies and materials will be provided by the artists. Bring your own lunch.
    - Sales will not be permitted on site.
