G.Lord Ross Park Paint Out

Event Details

  • There are several ways to walk into the park, however, I like the one closest to Carriage Lane, as well as the ones along Torresdale and/or along Fisherville Road the best. The stretch for walking is the shortest before finding good spots. In the first one mentioned, there is a picnic area, as well as an adorable public washroom.

You will find a lot of shrubs, spruce, elm, poplar trees, weeds and grass, around long paved walking/ bicycle trails (with pedestrians/cyclers), crossing the West Don River and river bed, and maybe a few ducks early in the mornings. Ancient Elms, left despite 'Elm Disease' are lovely to behold. Later in the season there are a lot of wild flowers, and in the fall you’ll find the usual fall colours in abundance. Although there is always a steady stream of joggers, walkers, and cyclers, most days it is easy to find lovely private spots. The link will not show the entire park area, rather than the specific areas I've mentioned But you can check for different access points.for future possibilities.

NOTE: You must cart/carry your stuff, including your lunch, and drinks/treats as there is no vehicle access, nor any concession stands. Questions: write Birte at HellaStudio at gmail.
