Plein Air Painting Challenge in Norval – Saturday, August 15, 2020
Presented by the Norval Community Association, Credit Valley Artisans, Helson Gallery and Ontario Plein Air Society
With a rich history and scenic location on the Credit River, the community of Norval is the perfect spot for plein air painting. Discover what drew noted Group of Seven painter A.J. Casson to Norval in the 1920s and 30s, and what continues to draw artists today!
Safety Precautions – COVID-19: Please note that every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of participants and those in attendance. Painters are required to practice social distancing of two meters and to wear masks in situations where appropriate distancing cannot be observed
Date: Saturday, August 15, 2020 – Rain or Shine
Registration: 8:45 – 9:30 a.m.
Please register at the gazebo in the Lucy Maud Montgomery Garden of the Senses, 477 Guelph Street, Norval L0P 1K0
Registration fee: $15; No charge for members of the Ontario Plein Air Society or Credit Valley Artisans
We are requesting that artists register in advance so we can gauge the level of participation. You don’t need to pay in advance but please email Kara Bruce to confirm your participation: kbruce@haltonhills.ca
Registration begins 8:45 am
Painting begins at 9:30. Medium of your choice.
12:30 pm: You must be back at the registration area to prepare your work for judging.
Judging begins at 12:45. At 1:30 pm the awards will be announced.

Please note: beverages and snacks will be available for a minimal cost. Artists should plan to bring a lunch.
